The incumbent faction, led by Sneh Prakash Bansal, registered a comprehensive victory in the DDCA elections on Monday while those opposing corruption in the association threatened to take legal recourse. Bansal, backed by outgoing president Arun Jaitley, was elected president, defeating Bishan Singh Bedi. Before the elections, however, the annual general meeting of DDCA was marked by protests.
“We were taken aback by the DDCA management’s aggressive response to our written and oral queries about the association accounts. Jaitley had very few answers and allowed the treasurer (Narinder Batra) to take charge,” Bedi said after the elections.
