Leg spinner M. Abhinav (seven for 20) bowled a brilliant spell as Sri Ramakrishna Mills Sports Club (SRMSC) coasted to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Rainbow Jeeva Cricket Club in the TNCA-CDCA first division league at the SNR Sons College grounds here recently.

The scores: Rainbow Jeeva CC 104 in 18.3 overs (R. Murali 52, M. Abhinav seven for 20) lost to Sri Ramakrishna Mills SC 105 for three in 25.4 overs (Arun Balaji 44 not out); RKS CA 120 in 33.1 overs (S. Santhosh Kumar 36, N. Rajaraman 33, A. Kamalesh three for 25. Senthil Kumar three for 6) lost to Cosmo Village SA 121 for seven in 28.5 overs (A. Kamalesh 49, A. Prabhu 35, S. Mohan Prasath three for 41, N. Vignesh Ashwin three fro 13); SNR Sons 97 in 39.1 overs (R. Janarthan Balaji three for 7, R. Mithun three for 10) lost to Sri Ramakrishna CT 99 for four in 21.4 overs (R. Mithun 35).

Sidhartha wins

S. Sidhartha, with a score of 74, emerged the gross winner of the Mikrosen Trophy golf tournament at the par-72 Coimbatore Golf Club course recently.

Rajiv stars for CIT

R. Rajiv Gandhi struck thrice in Coimbatore Institute of Technology‘s 5-2 win over Sri Krishna College of Technology in the seventh Tech hockey league for the Major Dhyan Chand Memorial Trophy at the PSG College of Technology grounds recently.

The results: SRIT ‘A’ w/o. RVS CE; GCT 1 (R. Rasupandi 20) bt Dr. MCET 0; CIT 5 (R. Rajiv Gandhi 8, 16, 22, R. Vaibav Deepak 33, M. Durai Prabakar 42) bt Sri Krishna CT 2 (M. Ramkumar 10, S. Sathish Manikandan 44).

Kaatimaa SA prevails

At Udhagamandalam, Kaatimaa Sports Academy got past Little Masters Cricket Club by four wickets to emerge the champion outfit of the TNCA-NDCA third division league for the Sancheti Memorial Rolling Trophy at the Laidlaw Memorial School grounds recently.

The scores: III div. (final): Little Masters CC 166 (N. Chanakyan 40, B. Vinoth three for 29, S. Prakash three for 34) lost to Kaatimaa SA 167 for six in 33.5 overs (S. Prakash 40, M. Kumar 37, D. Sharma 34 not out, N. Chanakyan three for 30).

Kents CC wins

Kents Cricket Club did not sweat much on its way to a five-wicket win over Riverside Cricket Academy in the NDCA-HPF Staff Club Rolling Trophy at the HPF grounds recently.

The scores: Riverside CA 190 for eight in 40 overs (R. Santhosh 34, N. Raghunath 31) lost to Kents CC 191 for five in 27.4 overs (S. Seyabudeen 60, C.K. Deepak 53, L. Aruldas 50).

Mahesh makes merry

At Tirupur, Mahesh picked five for 19 in FNF Cricket Club’s 51-run win over Evershine Cricket Club in the TNCA-DCAT first division league at the Migros Kids School grounds recently.
