What is being seen all over is the scene of natural wealth being taken over by corporates and the mafia (“The battle for water,” Feb.20). Mineral wealth, oil, air and even sand are now in their hands, with millions made in profits. That it has the potential to trigger war and acts of terror is both shocking and something to ponder over.

Along with the global efforts, the common man can play a vital role in water conservation. Methods toward this end need to be published, advertised and made mandatory.
