It has become a trend to raise a hue and cry over films involving popular heroes. When the Hindi film Mughal-e-Azam was released, there was no controversy among Rajputs over Jodha Bai being portrayed as Akbar’s wife. Five decades later, there were huge protests against Jodha Akbar, a tale of love between Akbar and Jodha Bai, in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

It is surprising that the Tamil Nadu government banned Vishwaroopam, after the Central Board of Film Certification cleared it.
