Bills passed

This refers to the article, “ >NDA strategy in Parliament pays off, key Bills passed ” (November 30). That three major Bills were passed in a short span of time shows that the new government is functioning well and decorum is being maintained in Parliament. The credit also goes to the opposition parties for their cooperation. Taking a cue from this, members of Parliament must ensure that their presence is felt and that there is more productivity and effectual running than ever before.

The NDA government has made the best of the opening week of the Winter Session of Parliament and has worked with intelligence and tact in ensuring that three major Bills were passed. Hats off to the organisational and inclusive approach of Parliamentary Affairs Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu. In these few days, MPs have worked far better than in the 15th Lok Sabha. I hope that members of the Rajya Sabha take a leaf out of this and keep aside their political games and personal egos for the well-being of the nation.
