K.R. Bhaskaran passes away

K.R. Bhaskaran, brother of former President of India K.R. Narayanan, passed away here on Friday.

Mr. Bhaskaran (85) suffered from various illnesses due to old age and breathed his last at a private hospital in Ettumanoor early in the morning.

A bachelor throughout his life, Mr. Bhaskaran hailed from the Kocheril House and was the son of Raman Vaidyar and Paappiyamma.

Having graduated from the University of London, he lectured at the University. Later, he also lectured at a private college in Ettumanoor.

He also served as a member in the Uzhavoor block panchayat.

The body will be cremated within the compound of the ancestral property on Saturday.
