Karunanidhi condoles death of Thackeray

DMK president, M. Karunanidhi and Tamil Nadu unit president of the BJP Pon. Radhakrishnan condoled the death of Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray on Saturday.

In a message, Mr. Karunanidhi stated that the welfare and progress of the people of Maharashtra were most important to the late leader.

He recalled his meeting with Bal Thackeray during a visit to Mumbai and said that he was deeply touched by his affection and simplicity.

Mr. Radhakrishnan said that Thackeray acted bearing in mind that the country’s culture and tradition should be preserved and protected.
