Regulations for by-poll unveiled

The Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday announced a set of regulations to be followed during to the by-election to Pudukottai Assembly constituency scheduled to be held on June 12. The regulations would be in operation from 5pm on June10.

As per regulations, no one should display to the public any election matter by means of cinematograph, television or other similar apparatus.

No one should propagate any election matter to the public by holding or by arranging any musical concert or any theatrical performance or other entertainment or amusement with a view to attracting the public thereto. “Any violation violation of the provisions is punishable with imprisonment for two years or fine or both,” the CEO warned.
