Buddhadeb’s remarks not defamatory: counsel

Counsel for the former West Bengal Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, on Friday sent a reply to the legal notice served by Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy, who threatened to initiate legal proceedings against Mr. Bhattacharjee if he did not apologise for his remarks against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. “ … None of the remarks … was derogatory or defamatory. [If] in spite of that [the reply being sent] if anyone wants to take the matter to court, he is welcome,” counsel said.
