Fire at paper factory in Kolkata

A fire broke out at a paper factory near Chanditala, a congested place, in Behala area in the southern outskirts of the city on Sunday.

Altogether 13 fire tenders were pressed into service and the blaze was brought under control in about two hours, fire department sources said.

Police said that there was no report of any casualty or injury.

Disaster Management Minister Javed Khan and city Mayor Sovan Chattopadhyay rushed to the spot and reviewed the situation.

Cause of fire or the extent of damage was yet to be ascertained.
