Police shielding CPI(M) workers: BJP

Published - August 29, 2011 07:45 pm IST - Kozhikode:

The police are shielding those behind the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district unit vice-president T.K. Padmanabhan and his wife on Friday, party district president P. Reghunath has said.

CPI(M) workers were behind the incident. The police had not bothered to arrest the culprits due to political pressure, Mr. Reghunath said in a pres release here on Monday.

“Mr. Padmanabhan and his wife were attacked in Maoist style. Leaders of the CPI(M) are making all efforts to protect those behind the attack,” he said.

The BJP would continue its agitation until the culprits were arrested, he added.
