Part of KSRTC bus-stand to be shifted

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has decided to shift operation of intra-State and inter-State express buses on the Chikkaballapur-Kolar sector to the newly constructed shelter in front of the Shantala Silk House in Majestic from January 6.

A press release issued here on Sunday said the shifting was necessary to allow construction of underground metro station at Majestic. Buses of KSRTC and Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bound towards Hindupur Anantapur, Puttaparthi, Kadapa, Tirupati, Chikkaballapur and Kolar will start from the new facility.

Hitherto, these services were being operated from the main terminal of Kempegowda Bus Station. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation authorities required the space to facilitate construction of the underground metro station as well as to allow tunnelling on the North-South corridor of Namma Metro.
