Withdraw FIR against reporter: INS

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) on Wednesday condemned the FIR filed against a journalist of The Tribune who had reported on the leak of Aadhaar data and demanded that it be withdrawn.

In a statement issued on behalf of members, INS president Akila Urankar expressed serious concern about the “attempt to browbeat the reporter of The Tribune who had courageously reported the leak of crucial Aadhaar data.” The report was in public interest, the statement read.
