Stage set for ‘Ayuta Chandi Maha Homam’

Stage is being set for ‘Chaturveda Swaahaakara Purassara Maharudra Puracharana Sahita Ayuta Chandi Maha Homam’ that would be performed by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao from December 23 to December 27. Yaga Sthali is located at the farm house of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao on the outskirts of this village in Jagadevpur mandal of Medak district.

An idol of Maha Chandi would be installed.

Yaga Sathali is spread in 25 acres in addition to 15 acres for parking. Cottages resembling the traditional ashramas, are being constructed for purohits who will perform this yagam.

As many as 1,100 Rithviks, with 500 juniors to assist them will organise the programme in a systematic manner with all traditions. About 300 cooks from Brahmin community from Manthani of Karimnagar district are hired to prepare food for the rithviks and their assistants.

Rudra Homa, Yagna Gundam, Chaturveda– Rigveda, Yajurveda, Sama Veda and Adharva Veda- Homa Gundas in addition to 100 homa gundas are being established to perform the Chandi Yagam. About 1,000 persons will perform Kumkumarchana continuously all the five days.

“During these five days chanting of 10,000 Chandi Saptasathi, one crore Navarna mantra along with 1,000 saptasathi havan, 10 lakh Navavarna mantra havan, 100 saptasathi tarpan, one lakh navarna matra tarpan etc with annadana to thousands of people would be conducted and that too strictly adhering to the scriptures of Vedas and under the expert execution of 1,500 Vedic pundits of high caliber drawn from various States.”

Arrangements are being made so that about 6,000 people will have darshan of Yagam while passing through the queue. Meals and prasadams will be prepared for about 50,000 people every day.

Hundred tonnes cow ghee, 50 tonnes of Samidhalu was expected to get used in the process of Yagam.

Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India, Governors- K. Rosaiah (Tamil Nadu), Ch. Vidyasagar Rao (Maharashtra) and E.V.L. Narasimhan (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Union Ministers- B. Dattatreya and M. Venkayya Naidu among others were expected to attend the Yagam. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was expected to be at the place of Yagam for about half an hour on last day December 27th, the day of Poornahuthi. N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has reportedly accepted to attend the Yagam.

Four helipads are getting ready to receive the VVIP guests at the farm house. The security forces had already taken control of the farm house and CC cameras were fixed.

“This will be the first of its kind Yagam being performed by any Chief Minister so far, to my knowledge. Experts say that this will do good for the state and nation,” said an officer involved with arrangements.
