Progressive Recognised Teachers Union ((PRTU) (Telangana) State president G Harshavardhan has demanded that the government complete the process of uniform service rules of all the teachers before May 31 and fill up all vacant MEO, deputy DEOs, DIET lecturers etc.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that the government should also complete the process of rationalisation and transfers of teachers before May 31 so that the new academic year would not be disturbed. Stating that the teachers’ transfers should be conducted every five years instead of the existing eight years rule, he said that the government should relieve 1,602 teachers, who were transferred in 2013, by April 23.
Expressing concern over the declining enrolment of students into the government schools due to craze for English medium education, he urged the
government to start English medium schools from the LKG onwards by abolishing the Anganwadi centres. Demanding appointment of PETs in all
schools, he also sought upgradation of language pandit posts as school assistants.
He also urged the government to provide PRC arrears in the form of cash through GPF instead of issuing in the form of bonds. Appealing the government to provide two years child care leave to the women employees including teachers, he also sought cash less treatment through health cards to all employees. PRTU state general secretary M Chinnaiah, district president P Raji Reddy, general secretary Ch Srinivas and others were also present.
