The Nalgonda police on Wednesday unearthed a Maoist dump in Chandampet mandal of Nalgonda district.

According to the police, the dump contained seven hand grenades, 150 electric detonators, 200 non-electric detonators, 10 hats, Maoist uniforms, banned revolutionary literature and CDs containing revolutionary songs.

The police, who were on a routine combing operation, stumbled upon the explosive material kept in a cave located on a hill near Guntala Tanda tribal hamlet under Kambalapalli panchayat limits. However, the police believe that the Maoists might have dumped the arms at least two years ago as the clothes were discoloured. The village is located on the fringes of Nallamala forest area known for Maoist activity.
