Civic body calls for tenders under EPC mode

Multi-level flyovers or grade separators to be constructed at a cost of ₹263.09 crore at Kondapur received clearance from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation standing committee presided over by Mayor B. Rammohan and it was decided to call for tenders under the EPC - engineering, procurement and construction mode, pending acquisition of land and properties.

A project monitoring agency too will be chosen through the tender method for supervision, quality control and audit of works for the grade separators planned to be built at Botanical Gardens and Kondapur junction.

The work includes two-lane underpass from Allwyn crossroads towards Gachibowli junction crossing Kothaguda junction, two-lane one-way flyover from Gachibowii side crossing Botanical Garden junction at first level, beyond which it moves into three-lane flyover crossing Kothaguda and Kondapur junctions.

A two-lane straight flyover crossing Kothaguda and Kondapur junctions, a two-lane up ramp from Botanical Garden joining with the flyover for Hitec city. And, Allwyn crossroads bound traffic u-turn for Gachibowli bound traffic from Botanical Gardens.

Another project of construction of a six-lane two-way flyover crossing Seven Tombs Junction (Shaikpet), Film Nagar road junction, O.U. Colony Junction and Whisper Valley junction too has been cleared for an estimated amount of ₹333.55 crore (₹275.55 crore structure + ₹58 crore land acquisition). This work too will be built as per the EPC contract and an independent agency to monitor the project. This has been recommended to the government for approval.

Road widening from Chandanagar (NH.9) to Ameenpura road up to GHMC limits (via. Sri Devi Theatre) for proposed 150 feet has been cleared, another 100-ft road widening at Kothaguda, widening free left and link road under proposed 50-80 feet wide road from Ambedkar Statue ‘V’ Junction to Zinda Thelismath Junction (Golnaka).

Other road widening works cleared are proposed 200-ft road for construction of flyover from Balanagar road to Narsapur crossroads by the HMDA, proposed 100-ft wide road from Puranapool Gandhi statue to Bhoiguda Kaman and the proposed 120-ft wide road from Jubilee Hills check post to Road No. 45 Junction.

Chilkalguda fish market

The panel assisted by GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy and other senior officials also approved construction of wholesale fish market at Chilkalguda with 90% financial assistance from National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) at a cost of ₹2.51 crore.
