Two persons including a farmer were struck dead by lightning in separate incidents in Konijerla mandal on Friday evening.
According to sources, Lakshmaiah, 45, a farmer, was killed when lightning struck him in his cotton field at Anantaram village late in the evening. In another incident, Nagaraju, 28, a cattle grazer, was struck dead by lightning at Tanikella village in the evening. He was standing under a tree amid heavy downpour when the tragic incident occurred. Heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and winds, battered many parts of the district.
