YSRCP president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will campaign in Warangal from November 16 to 19, party Telangana unit president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said here on Friday.

“Starting from Palakurthy on Monday, Mr. Reddy would tour the seven constituencies, holding four public meetings each day till November 19,” he said.

According to the schedule, Mr. Reddy would begin his campaign from Palakurthy and proceed to Zaffergadh, Wardahnnapet, Rayparthi and Thorrur on Monday. And for the next three days, he would tour Athmakur, Shyamapet, Bhupalapalli, Parkal, Warangal, Station Ghanpur and Raghunathapalli mandal.

“We got very good public response for MLA Roja’s campaign in the district. Mr. Reddy’s tour will turn the tide in our favour,” he said.

Mr. Srinivas Reddy said that the party chief would highlight how the Congress and the TDP governments dashed the hopes of people, particularly farmers in both AP and Telangana.

In Telangana, people are unhappy with the TRS government as there is not even a single representation to women in Cabinet or other important positions; youth still wait for jobs, and farmers badly in need of succour, he said.

“People of Telangana want a Chief Minister like Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy who changed the fate of the poor and the downtrodden by introducing Arogyasri, fee reimbursement and Jala Yagnam programmes,” the MP said, appealing people to vote for party’s nominee Nalla Surya Prakash.

‘TRS fulfilled all promises’

The TRS government has initiated recruitment, undertook Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya programmes, and allocated funds for new power projects, said Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav.

Referring to BJP president G. Kishan Reddy’s challenge that the TRS should accept the by-election as referendum, he said that his party is ready to do so provided Prime Minister Narendra Modi too accepts the challenge.

The TRS delivered many things like those that were not promised in the manifesto – for instance, quality rice to social welfare hostels, Shadi Mubarak, Kalyana Lakshmi and so on. There was no instance where the Chief Minister came forward telling people not to vote for him if he failed to ensure drinking water supply to each household in the State. “This TRS government came very recently and got down to job. We will fulfil all promises and much more than people expected,” he asserted. The Minister was here in Warangal to campaign for party nominee P. Dayakar in the Parliament by-election, on Friday.

‘State government failed’

TDP legislator Errabelli Dayakar Rao has asked the TRS leaders to give reason for giving votes to them once again.

“A Deputy Chief Minister belonging to Madiga community was sacked without assigning reason, there was no representation of women in the Cabinet, the Textile Park and ORR have not come to Warangal so far while two bed room remained a promise.

Mr. Dayakar Rao said rations cards and pensions were reduced. The promises made by TRS were not fulfilled and every day Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao makes a new promises.

BJP general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao said it was because of concerted efforts of people and parties that separate Telangana dream was realised. It was not proper for TRS to claim the credit. He appealed to vote for BJP-TDP combine and NDA candidate P. Devaiah.

Raw deal for women

Though women also took part in separate Telangana movement, they were given a raw deal by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the State Cabinet, said Mahila Congress president Nerella Sharada. There has been no representation of women except MP K. Kavitha in the State Cabinet.

“KCR instigated employees to join separate Telangana movement for his own selfish ends and now when the same employees – municipal, Aasha and others were agitating for genuine demands, he ridiculed them,” Ms Sharada pointed out.
