‘GST will improve economy’

Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi, Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, said that the GST Bill passed by Parliament, would improve the economy of the nation.

Participating in Swacch Bharat programme held at Zaheerabad on Monday, Mr. Ramesh Chandappa said Jan Dhan bank accounts were aimed at reducing corruption and transferring the subsidy to beneficiary accounts.

“The Government is committed to improve economy, arrest corruption and black money and transparency in all monitory dealings. The Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) is aimed at flawless online transactions,” he said.

Informing that as many as 24,582 habitations are there in the district, the Union Minister said that drinking water is being supplied for as many as 12,980 habitations fully while for the remaining the supply was partial. He said the State government was able to spend only ₹ 97 crore out of the total ₹133.9 crore sanctioned and released by the Union Government.
