State Government completes renovation of mosques across the State

On Id-ul-Fitr, the State government has taken security measures to facilitate smooth conduct of the festival.

The government has also arranged for drinking water and food for the needy in various municipalities.

Wishing Muslims on Sunday, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said, “On this Holy Id-ul-Fitr day, let us redeem our pledge to respect the dignity of human being, the sanctity of life and the solemnity of all faiths”.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao appealed to people to celebrate Id upholding communal harmony and religious tolerance. “Mirror the great Ganga-Jamuna tehjeeb of the Telangana State,” a release from the Chief Minister’s Office said.

Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiam Srihari and Md. Mahmood Ali too conveyed their greetings to the people.

Extending Id greetings to all Muslims and other fellow citizens, Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council, Md. Shabbir Ali, said: “Islam preaches brotherhood. It helps us understand the difficulties faced by our neighbours and ask us to extend the helping hand. Roza (fasting) helps have control over hunger and allows us to understand other’s suffering.”

Advisor to the government on minority affairs, A.K. Khan, said in a release that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had taken initiatives for the overall development of Muslim minorities, which include distribution of ₹4 lakh-worth gift packets to the poor in the community.

The government had also completed renovation of mosques in the State.
