The State government’s ambitious e-panchayats project aimed at providing citizens with services in the grama panchayats was formally inaugurated in Chinna Bonala village of Sircilla mandal on Friday by Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K. Taraka Rama Rao.
The e-panchayats albeit Palle Pragathi Seva Kendralu (One Stop Service) centres, will be manned a trained woman, called Village level entrepreneur (VLE). The e-panchayats are housed in grama panchayat office and the VLEs are provided with a laptop or desk top with internet facilities.
The One Stop Service (OSS) centres would provide disbursement of Asara social security pensions, payment of NREGS wages, banking transaction, Meeseva services, panchayat services -- such as birth and death certificates, payment of house taxes, pahanis etc.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government will inaugurating 26 e-panchayats in 21 mandals of the district in the first phase. Similarly, the administration is also providing similar services in 104 villages in the first phase, he said, and added that they will cover all the villages in the State soon.
He also said that the launch of e-kiosks would help villagers secure citizen services in their own village - instead of visiting the towns.
Vemulawada legislator Ch Ramesh Babu, Principal Secretary (PR) Raymond Peter, Commissioner (Rural development) Anitha Rajendran, Collector Neetu Prasad, Additional Joint Collector Nagendra and others were also present.
