“Defeat ‘money power’ in Council polls”

February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - KHAMMAM:

The district leaders of CPI(M), CPI and CPI (ML-New Democracy) have called upon the voters of the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates Constituency to vote for their candidate S. Prabhakar Reddy in the ensuing Legislative council polls.

In a joint statement, the CPI (M) district secretary P. Sudarshan Rao, the CPI district secretary B. Hemantha Rao, and the CPI (ML-ND) district secretary P. Ranga Rao appealed to the electorate to defeat the “money power” and “corporate entities” at the husting.

They asserted that Mr. Prabhakar Reddy, an advocate by profession, hailing from the family of a fighter of the Telangana armed struggle, is well-acquainted with the issues concerning the whole gamut of higher education.

A meeting will be organised at Ramakrishna function hall in Khammam on March 1 to garner support of the electorate for the victory of Mr. Prabhakar Reddy, they said.
