Collector suspends official

September 15, 2014 01:50 am | Updated 01:50 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Ranga Reddy district Collector N. Sridhar issued orders on Sunday suspending Narasimha Rao, a revenue official and former Tehsildar of Malkajgiri, over allegations of committing irregularities.

Mr. Rao reportedly issued mutation orders for an 18-acre government land in Malkajgiri, based on forged documents two years ago. He had allegedly circumvented the higher officials to pass the file relating to the mutation, and smuggled related documents following his transfer as Tehsildar of Nampally later. The Ranga Reddy Collector had ordered an inquiry by the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) in the issue.

RDO Prabhakar Reddy confirmed the former Tehsildar’s role in the irregularities, following which Mr. Rao was suspended.
