The addition of one more paper and basic English in Group-II and Group-III recruitment examination syllabus, one additional paper in case of Group -I examination by Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) in the new syllabus released a couple of days ago had its impact on students, since the coaching centres had hiked the tuition fee for teaching additional subject and English.
Most of the coaching centres used to collect between Rs. 14,000 and Rs 16,000 for Group-II coaching in Nalgonda district which they had increased by about Rs 4,000. The coaching centres have immediately recruited two additional faculty for teaching Telangana movement leading to formation of State and Basic English for teaching Group-II and Group-III aspirants.
The TSPSC enhanced the number of papers to four in Group-II from previous pattern of three papers besides including basic English in first paper. Similarly, they have also included Basic English in all the recruitment examinations except Group-IV. The coaching centres also increased the tuition fee for offering additional coaching for all these recruitment examinations.
In addition to that, an aspirant, K. Giribabu, said that they would also have to spend additional amount for attending coaching classes for preparing for interview for which they had to shell out an additional amount of Rs 4,000. The earlier pattern had no such interview for other than Group-I. Since there are 75 marks earmarked for interview in Group-II recruitment out of total of 675 marks, Mr. Giribabu said that they cannot take chance. Stating that the coaching centres have increased the fee across the State, another aspirant, B. Ramalingam, who was attending classes in Hyderabad, said that all the coaching centres in Hyderabad also increased the fee for Group-I, Group-II, Group-III and other coaching with immediate effect. The change in the syllabus also forced many aspirants those who had already attended the coaching earlier, to take the coaching again in view of inclusion of additional syllabus.
A faculty at a coaching centre in Nalgonda, K. Narasimha Reddy said that the managements of coaching centres had been left with no option but to increase the fee since all of them had appointed two additional faculty with immediate effect following the release of new syllabus.
He said that the coaching centres were paying Rs 50,000 for these two faculty per month.
