BJP makes RTI application on Sania

Published - July 26, 2014 12:22 am IST - HYDERABAD:

BJP legislator N.V.S.S. Prabhakar has said that he had made an application under Right to Information Act seeking to know the motive behind appointment of tennis star Sania Mirza as the brand ambassador of Telangana, but there was no reply so far.

Speaking to press persons here, Mr. Prabhakar said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao owed a public explanation on the gesture to Sania. If the Gujarat government had given the same status to iconic Amitabh Bachhan when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister, it invited a lot of investments in the State.

Mr. Rao must explain about his aim.

He alleged that the welfare programmes in TRS government were in doldrums due to fund crunch. The pensioners did not get money for the past three months.
