The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA in the Telangana Assembly G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday gave notice for moving a privilege motion against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for breaking the tradition of taking policy decisions and announcing them outside the House when it is in session. Speaking after the eviction of suspended Congress members from the House, Mr. Reddy said there was a tradition for long that the government would make policy decision announcement only in the House when Legislature was in session. However, the Chief Minister had announced the official symbols of Telangana outside the House on Monday and requested Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary to take action. Acknowledging that he had received the notice, the Speaker said it was “under consideration”. Later, responding to K. Laxman of BJP on the issue of pensions Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister K.T. Rama Rao stated that complete details including the GOs issued and eligibility criteria would be placed before the House in a day or two.

He said Telangana would become the highest disburser of pensions in the country once the scrutiny of applications for identifying the beneficiaries was over. Minister for Legislative Affairs T. Harish Rao said no eligible persons would be denied social security pension and no ineligible would be given the benefit.
