A woman, Aarayi (50), of Nadukuppam Colony, was killed after a motor cycle knocked her down near Vandavasi, on Saturday night. The motorist, Poornasankari, and Aarayi sustained injuries. They were rushed to the Vandavasi Government Hospital where Aarayi died. Thellar police have booked a case.
Soon people of Nadukuppam village staged a road roko demanding to set up a speed breaker in their neighbourhood. Vandvasi Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendran and other police officials held talks with the protesters after which they dispersed. - Staff Reporter
