Trains to be regulated

Railways will complete construction of two subways, taken up on an outlay of Rs. 1 crore each, between Nemom and Neyyattinkara stations in four days to replace the level crossings there.

A railway engineering wing official said the subways would facilitate movement of heavy vehicles, including stage carriers.

According to a railway statement, the railways will regulate rail services on Thiruvananthapuram– Nagercoil section on April 10, 11, 17, and 18 to take up the work. Train number 16605 Mangaluru– Nagercoil Ernad Express and Train No. 16649 Mangaluru– Nagercoil Parasuram Express will be partially cancelled between Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil on April 10 and 17.

Rescheduling has also been announced for two trains on April 10 and 17. Train No. 56700 Madurai– Punalur Passenger scheduled to leave Madurai at 11.05 p.m. will start late by two hours 10 minutes from Madurai. Train No. 16128 Guruvayur– Chennai Egmore Express scheduled to leave Guruvayur at 9.10 p.m. will start late by three hours at 00.10 hours.

On April 11 and 18, Train No. 56311 Thiruvananthapuram– Nagercoil Passenger scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram at 6.55 a.m., Train No. 56317 Kochuveli– Nagercoil Passenger scheduled to leave Kochuveli at 11.50 a.m. and Train No. 56318 Nagercoil– Kochuveli Passenger scheduled to leave Nagercoil at 7.55 a.m. will remain cancelled.

Partial cancellation

Train No. 16606 Nagercoil– Mangaluru Ernad Express, Train No. 16650 Nagercoil– Mangaluru Parasuram Express, and Train No. 56304 Nagercoil– Kottayam passenger will be partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Thiruvananthapuram Central on April 11 and 18. Train No. 56716 Kanyakumari– Punalur Passenger leaving Kanyakumari at 2.35 p.m. and Train No. 56715 Punalur– Kanyakumari Passenger reaching Thiruvananthapuram Central at 9.15 a.m. will be partially cancelled between Thiruvananthpuram and Kanyakumari on these days.

Rescheduling

Train No. 16724 Thiruvananthapuram Central– Chennai Egmore Ananthapuri Express, scheduled to leave at 4.20 p.m., will start late at 5.20 p.m. Train No. 56315 Thiruvananthapuram– Nagercoil Passenger, scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 5.10 p.m., will start late at 5.30 p.m., the release said.
