Stranded fishermen rescued

Three fishermen were stranded in mid sea, as their fibre-craft capsized due to heavy wind near Kanyakumari on Saturday.

According to Coastal Security Group of the district police, the fibre craft of the fishermen hailing from Arogyapuram capsized due to heavy wind in the early morning on Saturday. The CSG also launched search operations in modern boats.

The fishermen were stranded at 18 nautical miles from Kanyakumari shore. Dominith Dolly Leo (50), Joseph Antony (40) and Sebastian (43) were rescued by other fishermen who rushed to the sea in three fibre crafts, CSG sources also said.
