The Southern Railway will operate special passenger trains in the Salem – Namakkal – Karur sector on a temporary basis for three months from September 16 to November 30.
Special train no. 06743 will depart from Salem Junction at 11.30 a.m. and reach Namakkal at 12.25 p.m. and reach Karur at 1.30 p.m. In return direction, train no. 06744 will depart from Karur at 2.40 p.m. and reach Namakkal at 3.15 p.m. and Salem Junction at 4.40 p.m. This train service will be operated in addition to the existing four services from Monday to Saturday.
Currently, there is no passenger train service on Sundays in this sector.
Hence, the railways will be running four services on Sundays. Train no. 56105 will depart from Salem Junction at 6 a.m. and arrive at Namakkal at 6.55 a.m. and reach Karur at 8 a.m. In return direction, train no 56106 will depart from Karur at 8.20 a.m., arrive at Namakkal at 8.55 a.m., and reach Salem Junction at 10.20 am.
Train no. 56107 will depart from Salem Junction at 5.30 p.m. and arrive at Namakkal at 6.25 a.m. and reach Karur at 7.30 p.m. In return direction, train no 56108 will depart from Karur at 7.50 p.m., arrive at Namakkal at 8.25 a.m., and arrive at Salem Junction at 9.50 p.m.
