A special meeting to check the incidence of bird flu will be held at all the block offices in the district on May 13.
In a press release issued here on Thursday, S. Palanisamy, District Collector, said that scientists from the Tamil Nadu University for Veterinary and Animal Sciences, public health officials and Veterinary Department officials will participate in the meeting for evolving precautionary plan, he added.

Drafted for poll duty
As many as 8,322 persons including 7,291 government officials and 1,031 police personnel have been drafted for election duty.
S. Swarna, Collector, said that adequate arrangements were made for government officials for casting their postal ballots at all the Assembly constituencies.
