As many as 83.91 per cent of the people have enrolled for Aadhaar card under the National Population Register (NPR) and the rest would be covered by December-end, said Collector V. Sampath here.
Inspecting a special enrolment camp for school students, he said that additional computer centres would be established for capturing the iris, finger prints of the people and for photographing them. He said that village administrate officer would be asked to identify people who have not enrolled so far and would be made to participate in the process.
Also, camps would be held for school and college students on their premises for enrolment. He said that camps at educational institutions would help the student to complete the process on the premises.
In Namakkal district, Aadhaar process were completed for 13,13,915 (81.19 per cent) of the total population. The balance 3,04,505 people would be covered by December-end.
Chairing a meeting at the collectorate in which Deputy Registrar General of Directorate of Census Operation Manojkumar was present, Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy said that 39 additional gadgets were procured for expediting the enrolment process across the district.
He said that special camps would be conducted in all the schools till October 15 and all the students would be covered.
Hence, he asked the public to utilise the opportunity and complete the Aadhaar process.
