Six more temples brought under ‘annadhanam’ scheme

Six more temples in the districts have been included for implementation of ‘annadhanam’ by the HR and CE Department. On Tuesday, District Collector S. Prabakar initiated the scheme at the Arulmigu Badrakaliamman Temple at Kollampalayam in the presence of

Erode Mayor Malliga Paramasivam, and senior HR and CE Department officials.

Arulmigu Kongalamman Temple, Arulmigu Kulavilakkamman Thirukovil at Nanjaikalamangalam, Arulmigu Muthukumarasamy Thirukovil at Pavalamalai near Gobichettipalayam, Arulmigu Gurunathaswami Temple at Pudupalayam in Anthiyur and Thanthondriamman Temple at Modachur near Gobichettipalayam are the five other places where the scheme got off to a start on Tuesday. With the new inclusion, the scheme will cover a total of 27 temples in the district, Assistant Commissioner of HR and CE Department Murugaiah said. During the course of the day, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inaugurated a mandapam constructed at a cost of Rs. 61.11 lakh at Sangameswarar Temple in Bhavani town, and a pumping station established at an expenditure of Rs. 1.85 crore to faciltiate devotees of Bannari Amman Temple to get water from Bhavani river.
