An enquiry into a controversial telephonic conversation relating to the Sankararaman murder case has been completed, the Madras High Court was informed on Thursday. The report will be placed before the High Court's administrative committee, which will take the ultimate decision.

Counsel for the High Court R. Sureshkumar made the submission before Justice K. Suguna when a petition filed by an advocate, P. Sundararajan, came up for further hearing.

Sankararaman, who was the manager of Sri Varadarajaperumal Temple in Kancheepuram, was murdered by a gang on September 3, 2004. The case is pending before the sessions court in Puducherry.

Mr. Sundararajan had filed a petition stating that the tapes containing a telephonic conversation among some persons relating to giving money and promising to pay the balance sum in connection with the judgment in the case had emerged.

An enquiry was ordered into the tapes controversy.

The High Court had ordered stay of the trial in the murder case.
