PMK cadre arrested in connection with murder of Tasmac employee

The Vazhapadi police on Friday arrested Murugesan, a PMK cadre, in connection with the murder of Selvam, a Tasmac outlet employee, about six months ago. Selvam (41) was sleeping in the outlet on August 4, 2015, when some unidentified miscreants set fire to it in the midnight. Selvam died due to suffocation. The police arrested six persons in connection with the incident and was on the lookout for Murugesan.

Meanwhile, one Srinvasan preferred a complaint with the Vazhapadi police on Friday that he was threatened by a miscreant at knife point at Belur Temple. The police rushed to the spot and caught hold of Murugesan. Investigations revealed his involvement in the murder of the Tasmac employee. He was arrested and remanded in custody.
