The driver of a government bus was killed and 20 passengers were injured in an accident on National Highway-46 near Melvisharam on Sunday.
According to police, a container lorry, which was coming at about 5 a.m. from Chennai to Bangalore, rammed the centre median as driver Nagamurthi (25) of Rayakottai of Krishnagiri district fell asleep.
The lorry jumped over the median and fell on the other side of the National Highway.
The government bus, which was going from Hosur to Chennai, hit the lorry . Driver of the bus Selvaraj (39) of Rajaji Nagar in Villivakkam in Chennai died on the spot.
