Office-bearers elected to The Hindu union

Six office-bearers have been elected to head The Hindu Office and National Press Employees’ Union.

Rajya Sabha MP M.K. Kanimozhi has been elected president of the union, M. Kamalanathan was re-elected as the general secretary for the fourth consecutive time, N. Bharathisadan and R. Arun were elected as vice-presidents, S. Martin Thomas was elected as joint secretary and P. Jayarathinam as treasurer.

While the elections were also held for 13 committee members, the results have been withheld after a demand for a recount was made. They will be announced in the next few days, union sources said.
