The Pattali Makkal Katchi does not object to a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the November 7 attack on three Dalit colonies at Naikkankottai village here, party founder-leader S. Ramadoss said here on Friday.

A mob attacked the colonies after a caste-Hindu man committed suicide over his daughter marrying a Dalit youth from one of the colonies.

Terming the attacks unfortunate, he told reporters that they were not premeditated.

As for the ongoing investigation by the CB-CID, ordered by the State Government, the team should consist of non-Dalit and non-Vanniyar officials.

Dr. Ramadoss alleged that supporters of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi were misusing the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and called for amendments to prevent its misuse.
