Medico killed in accident

A medical college student was killed in an accident near here in the early hours of Friday.

Police said P. Ram Nishanth (22) from Kottar in Nagercoil, who was doing his fourth year MBBS in a private medical college in Kancheepuram district, was returning home in his car along with his sister P. Nivetha (20), a third year student of a private homeopathy medical college near Chennai.

When they were crossing Gangaikondan around 3 a.m., Ram Nishanth, who was driving the car, reportedly lost control of the vehicle that dashed against a bridge.

Ram Nishanth was killed on the spot, and Ms. Nivetha, who sustained injuries, was admitted to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital.

Gangaikondan police have registered a case.
