Major reshuffle in bureaucracy

The State government has effected a major reshuffle of IAS officers on Friday.

Hans Raj Verma will be the Secretary of Environment and Forests. Till now, he was Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation.

Mohan Pyare is posted as Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, and will hold additional charge of Labour and Employment Department.

T. Prabhakara Rao, Transport Commissioner, is posted as Principal Secretary, Transport Department, in place of Braj Kishore Prasad, who has been deputed to the Government of India. Satyabrata Sahoo, Commissioner of Horticulture and Plantation Crops, is posted as Transport Commissioner.

D. Karthikeyan, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation, is posted as Commissioner of Archaeology in a newly created post.

The services of K. Skandan, Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), are placed at the Disposal of the TNPCB for appointment as Chairman. He will also hold additional charge of the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation.

C.V. Sankar, Principal Secretary, Industries, will hold full additional charge of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation. R. Kannan, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture, and Religious Endowments, will hold full additional charge as Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of the TTDC.

C.P. Singh, on premature repatriation to the State cadre, is posted as Additional Chief Secretary/Commissioner of Archives and Historical Research in a newly created post.

Meenakshi Rajagopal, Commissioner of Integrated Child Development, is posted as Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

Cuddalore Collector

S. Suresh Kumar, Executive Director of the Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency, is posted as Cuddalore Collector.

R. Kirlosh Kumar, Cuddalore Collector, is posted as Registrar of Co-operative Societies. He replaces P. Seetharaman, who has been posted as Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise in place of Malik Ferozekhan, who retired from service.

Pradeep Yadav, on reversion to the State cadre, is posted as Commissioner of Social Security Schemes in place of S. Malarvizhi, who has already been transferred.

V. Kalaiarasi, formerly Additional Registrar of Co-operative Societies, is posted as Director of Land Reforms. T. Abraham, Joint Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, is posted as Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.

R. Lilly, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, is posted as Joint Commissioner for Disaster Management/Mitigation in place of Ashish Chatterjee, who has been deputed to the Centre.

C. Munianathan, Director of Fisheries, is posted as Director of Treasuries and Accounts. Beela Rajesh, on cadre transfer from Jharkhand to Tamil Nadu, is posted as Commissioner of Fisheries and will also function as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation.

C.T. Manimekalai, Joint Secretary, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection, is posted as Director of Social Defence.
