Kirmani takes pledge on eye donation

Hospital organises awareness campaign

Syed Kirmani, former Test cricketer, pledged to donate his eyes as a part of an eye donation awareness campaign at the Rajan Eye Care hospital on Saturday. The awareness campaign was organised by the Rotary Rajan Eye Bank and the Rotary Club of Madras, T. Nagar.

Mr. Kirmani said he hoped more people would come forward and pledge their eyes.

Mohan Rajan, chairman and managing director of the Rajan Eye Care Hospital, said that creating awareness of eye donation could go a long way in addressing corneal blindness in the country.
