 V. Ponraj, scientific advisor to former president APJ Abdul Kalam, on Saturday announced his entry to politics. He would declare the name of the party and hoist its flag after paying tributes at Abdul Kalam's memorial in Rameswaram on Sunday. He made an appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to establish the rule of  Abdul Kalam in the State.

Addressing a huge gathering of youth, mostly students who came from various districts to persuade him to enter politics and take the lead, Mr. Ponraj said he was not for a change but for transforming Tamil Nadu into a developed State.

Taking on rampant corruption and poor governance that had ruined the State over the years, he said he would not like to blame any political party.

"We are all collectively responsible for this situation today. We have to correct it. I seek your support to establish the rule of Abdul Kalam in Tamil Nadu," he said.
