Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday sought a commitment from the Centre over the allocation of entire power to be generated from the first 1000-megawatt unit of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project to the State.

In a fresh letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, she drew his attention to her earlier letters dated March 31 and April 25, wherein she had sought his assistance for the allocation of the entire power to the State.

Ms. Jayalalithaa said: “To my dismay, no response has so far been received from you. I am given to understand that nuclear fuel loading in the first unit of the plant is to happen within the next few days.”

Reminding the Prime Minister about her earlier request, she said: “I am sure you will appreciate the State’s justified demand in this matter and convey a positive response soon.”
