Issuance of plastic Aadhaar cards begin

Issuance of plastic Aadhaar cards has begun in the district. So far 230 people have been issued their cards. Further, persons photographed and issued receipts could collect their cards from e-service centres in respective taluk offices on payment of a fee. As per the population census of the Dharmapuri, 14.61 lakh people are to be photographed for Aadhaar card. So far, 12.60 lakh people have been photographed.

Password

Those seeking plastic Aadhaar cards are required to upload their Aadhaar number on the website, in order to receive a one time password (OTP) on their registered mobile number.

Only by using the password, a plastic Aadhaar card could be issued. However, in the event of loss of phone or change in number, biometric data such as iris image or finger print will be taken to issue the card.

As of date, 100 plastic Aadhaar cards have been issued in Dharmapuri; 10 in Pennagaram; 40 in Harur; 30 cards in Palacode and 50 cards in Paapireddypatty. The administration has requested people to approach the respective e-service centres in the taluk offices and obtain their plastic Aadhaar card on payment of Rs.40.

Arasu Cable TV

e-service centres are being operated by the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation in the five taluk offices of Pennagaram, Dharmapuri, Harur, Palacode, and Paapireddypatty.

The e-service centres are operational on all days from 9.45 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. and the Collector has urged the public to avail of the facility.
