Inflow into Mettur Dam dips

The inflow into Mettur Dam once again dipped and stood at 461 cusecs on Tuesday.

The dam’s inflow that dipped to below 500 cusecs from November 8 to 16, rose to 1,241 cusecs on November 17. About 1,935 cusecs of water was realised in River Cauvery in Mettur on November 18 and 19, and it dipped to 1,853 cusecs on Sunday and 1,259 cusecs on Monday.

The water level in the dam stood at 41.49 feet on Tuesday against its full level of 120 feet. The storage level was 12.924 tmc against the dam’s full capacity of 93.47 tmc. About 750 cusecs of water is being discharged from the dam for Samba crop season, the Public Works Department sources said.
