Income Tax officials are still assessing the details of the raids conducted at the Kallesuwari Group across the country.

Denying charges of harassing the Group’s staff, a senior Income Tax official said some employees were asked to stay over time since the company uses SAP system for accounting.

“Most organisations use Tally accounting system. But in the current case since they are using SAP system we needed the presence of employees,” the official added.

On Wednesday, tax authorities searched as many as 54 locations linked to the group, including the ones in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu and Kakinada. The raids took place for three days.
