New block inaugurated in Hotel Tamil Nadu

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, on Monday, inaugurated through video conferencing Tourist Home, an additional block with 19 triple bedrooms and two suites at the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation’s Hotel Tamil Nadu complex here.

The Department of Tourism of Tamil Nadu government has built the two-storey hotel at a total cost of Rs. 2 crore to meet the growing demand of tourists and pilgrims visiting the island.

Collector S. Natarajan, who was present at the inaugural ceremony, said the high quality accommodation facilities offered by TTDC would go a long way in developing tourism in the island.

The new facility was the fourth block in the hotel complex and the first block was inaugurated way back in 1974.
