The granite structure at No. 3, Racecourse Road, which is being vacated by the Janata Dal (Secular), witnessed high drama on Thursday with Congress workers protesting against the attempts being made by the JD(S) to put up a shed in a vacant space on its premises.

The JD(S), which is expected to vacate the building following the apex court verdict, is erecting a shed behind the building to “store office materials”. When a huge contingent of Congress leaders and supporters tried to claim a right over the “entire building premises” on Thursday morning, JD(S) workers opposed their move. This resulted in heated arguments between workers and leaders of both parties.
