The former dean of Madras Medical College Dr. M.K. Muralidharan deposed on Tuesday before the one-man judicial commission probing former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s death.

Dr. Muralidharan answered a number of questions put to him by retired High Court judge Justice A. Arumugasamy for nearly two hours on Tuesday morning. Later, speaking to reporters, Dr. Muralidharan said the Commission had called him for the deposition as he was the dean of the MMC when Jayalalithaa was admitted to the Apollo Hospitals.

He said he was asked about the treatment given to Jayalalithaa during that period. “Since I didn’t treat her, I told the commission that I don’t know about it. I was also asked if I saw the Chief Minister [at the Apollo Hospitals]. I said I did not see her,” Dr. Muralidharan said.

Justice Arumugasamy also posed questions regarding the treatment given to Jayalalithaa and the medical significance of the treatment. “I gave an explanation to those questions,” he said.
